Remembering Walter Case Sr.
To whom it may concern,
I don't get to keep up with comings and goings of people and horses in
the harness racing industry as much as I'd like to. I enjoy going to
this site just to see what's going on, whether it be the "penalty box"
or win stats etc. And occasionally I see where old friends have passed
that have contributed to this sport in some fashion. Before I sent this
e-mail, I searched through the archives to make sure that I didn't miss
something. I didn't see even a notice that Walter Case Sr had passed on
June 26 of this year. I would think that Walter is worthy of at least
that much. The "Case" name is synonymous with harness racing, and it
all started with him. His children and now grandchildren are carrying
the torch and living his legacy everyday. He was a friend to many, both
horse and man. It was a pleasure knowing him. I sincerely hope that we
just overlooked a few words that were perhaps written about him since
his passing. If not, then maybe this letter will give him the respect
that he earned through his lifetime.
Sincerely,
Spring and Art Davignon
We did not post anything concerning Walter Case, Sr.'s passing. I sincerely do not remember why we did not, but I know that we did not avoid posting anything. It could have been as simple as we just missed it during the busy summer. I agree that Mr. Case and his family have been and still are very influential on the harness racing community both locally and nationally. We regret our omission. Webmaster, |
