Wednesday, May 20th

Today was the final day of the competition.  We had free time until it was time to head to the track at 3pm.  We got most of our bags pack before then so that we wouldn't have too much to do when we got back.

Jason needed some big points to make up any ground on the leader board.  As it turns out his first mount was scratched and you automatically get 5 points for that.  His last two races was where he was able to get some good ones, finishing 2nd and 1st respectively.  The last race of the competition was a winning one for Jason.  It felt good to out on a good note.  He finished 6th with 127 points.  He had a total of 3 winners throughout the competition.  Birger Jorgenson of Denmark  was able to pass New Zealand's Peter Ferguson by winning the first two races.

Though everyone wants to win the competition, I feel our trip was a success.  Jason was able to get to the winner's circle 3 times, we made some great friends, and had an experience of a lifetime.  I told Jason before it started that it would be nice to win one, but as long he is stays safe throughout the whole thing and has fun, it will be just fine.  He did more than that.  I'm very proud of him and I feel he represented the USA well.

Jason and I looking forward to get back to the states and getting to see Kobe.  Nine days is long time when you have a little one at home.  I hope you all enjoyed reading my diary entries.  Thanks for all your support.  This was definitely something we will never forget.  GO USA!!!!
