Scarborough, Maine – In anticipation of their April 14th Opening Day, Scarborough Downs is pleased to announce that the season’s initial card of Qualifying Races will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 10:30 am (EST).

Qualifiers will continue to be contested every Tuesday and Saturday morning throughout the season.

The Race Office will be open for business beginning Tuesday March 27th from 9:00 am to noon – please call Theresa Smith at 207-883-9521 or 9522 with your entries. The entry box for Saturday’s card will close at 12:00 pm on Friday.

Horsemen planning to participate in the upcoming race meet at Scarborough are reminded that the state of Maine qualifying rules have not been altered this year and remain in full effect. Horses must show a satisfactory performance line with-in 45 days of race date.

Horses entered to race at The Downs must also possess proper coggins and vaccination records.

Scarborough Downs proudly features live harness action every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday afternoon with first post scheduled for 3:45 pm with the popular Sunday matinees getting underway at 12:05 pm (EST).
