Weather Forces Additional Cancellation at Scarborough Downs

Scarborough, Maine - - Scarborough Downs has cancelled the live harness racing card scheduled to go to post at 3:45 pm (EDT) on Tuesday April 17th, due to effects from the northeaster that has slammed into southern Maine.

Tuesday morning’s qualifying races have also been scrubbed.

High winds and heavy rains have impeded both the racetrack and the area horsemen to the point that a safe and orderly performance would not be possible. Scarborough officials stated that racing will resume on Saturday.

The draw schedule for the upcoming weekend has been posted as follows:

Wednesday for Saturday

Thursday for Sunday

Friday for Monday

Saturday for Tuesday

The next round of qualifying races will be held on Saturday April 21st at 1:30 pm.

Scarborough Downs proudly features live harness action every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday afternoon at 3:45 pm (EDT). The popular Sunday matinees feature a 12:05 post time.
