Driver Shawn Gray
held the hot hand at
Scarborough Downs on
Thursday (June 19)
as the state of
Maine native
engineered a
dominate performance
on the local oval en
route to recording
five winners on the
ten-race program.
Gray got the midweek
card off to a
rousing start by
claiming victory in
the first three
consecutive contests
working out
aggressive
front-running
victories for
DoItAll (Jamie
Gerard Stable),
Cranmeadow Raven
(Kyle Gibbs Stable)
and Bush Delight
(Joseph Nelson
Stable).

He then expertly
coaxed a brand new
lifetime mark from
Ray Garnett’s
Frapper Joe (2:02)
which featured a
determined
first-over bid
before closing out
the skein of five
top-tallies with an
in-hand jiggy-jog
behind Best
Connection -- the
second of two wins
for trainer Kyle
Gibbs on the day .

of driving ability
we’ve witnessed this
season at the Downs”

Shawn Gray ascended
on Thursday into
sole possession of
fourth place on the
Scarborough Downs
leader’s board with
33 seasonal trips to
the winner’s circle
and now stands only
five wins removed
from acquiring
top-three status.
The 34 year old
teamster, a constant
presence on the
state of Maine
harness circuit, now
claims1419 lifetime
driving victories
from a career that
spans twelve years.
