Current Chip equaled her lifetime best, cruising the course in 2:04 with driver Mark Athearn calling the shots.
When last seen on the local oval Current Chip was completing her undefeated freshman campaign with a rousing victory in the $52,611 Stake final last October. The daughter of Current Cast picked up just where she left off mounting a dominating performance as she wired and demolished her Stakes contenders.

Owned by Thomas Dillon and Walter Hight and trained by the venerable Donald Richards, Current Chip equaled her lifetime best, cruising the course in 2:04 with driver Mark Athearn calling the shots.

Others Stakes winners on the program included Pembroke Champion (Heath Campbell), Glory Hallelujah (Gordon Corey), Penny Prim (Heath Campbell), and Willin Dylan (Ivan Davies).

Stakes action returns to Scarborough Downs on Sunday 7/11 with the 3-year-old colt pacers taking center stage; Katahdin Boy bids to remain undefeated during his sophomore campaign. Post time: 1:30 pm.
