A second winning trip at Bangor in 1:56.2. The only other horse to have multiple sub 1:57.0 winning miles in the same year was LANDMARK HONOR and he did it in July. RUPERT RUPERT accomplished the feat in May and also at night. |

For those in the grandstand or paddock last year during the first race on opening day at Skowhegan Fair, they saw something few will forget as a accident in the first turn resulted in a confused and riderless PAPA O take a nosedive into the auto tunnel. We were amazed when we saw him emerge from the tunnel on his own accord thinking he should have broke his neck or back when he took the fall at full speed. Fast forward to the day when we saw a Kentucky Derby winner lose his shot at a triple crown because of injury, PAPA O returned to the winners circle at Scarborough Downs. |
