Scarborough,
Maine
–
Drew
Campbell
has
seemingly
found
a
way
to
make
the
exceptional
look
ordinary
as
the
torrid
teamster
continued
his
dominance
at
Scarborough
Downs
on
Sunday
(December
7),
recording
his
second
five-win
performance
in
the
last
three
days
while
tallying
his
13th
driving
victory
during
the
weekend’s
harness
action
at
the
southern
Maine
oval.

Campbell takes a
quick look over
his shoulder as
CC Bag A Luck
approaches the
wire on Sunday.
It was
Campbell’s fifth
driving win of
the afternoon –

Campbell
posted
notice
of
his
impending
assault
in
the
opening
event,
skimming
gate-to-wire
to
score
the
tenth
seasonal
win
for
Patricia
Switzer’s
Kate’s
Atom
N,
before
patiently
pouncing
from
the
pocket
with
Da
Princess
(race
three)
to
overtake
the
pacesetting
Ariel
through
the
snowy
Scarborough
stretch.
His
final
catch-driving
victory
on
Sunday
employed
a
similar
strategy
as
the
Maine-bred
Ripogenus
sat
the
garden
trip
before
sprinting
home
on
top.
Campbell
also
fired
two
bullets
from
his
own
top-rated
roster
as
he
engineered
the
five-win
spectacular
with
both
C’mon
Towners
Jazz
and
CC
Bag
A
Luck
securing
their
fourth
consecutive
trips
down
victory
lane.
Scarborough’s
defending
driving
champion,
Campbell
appears
to
have
cemented
his
claim
to
back-to-back
trophies
as
he
now
leads
Rob
Dinning
on
the
local
leader’s
board
by a
rapidly
increasing
17-race
win
margin
with
only
six
performances
remaining
in
the
2008
meeting.
More
impressively
though,
Campbell
has
now
tied
northern
tier
driver
Shawn
Gray
in
the
battle
for
the
state
of
Maine
driver’s
championship
with
253
Pine
Tree
circuit
victory
laps
apiece
– a
trophy
that
Campbell
last
won
in
2003.
State

Maine
native
Jason
Bartlett
has
won
the
statewide
title
for
the
past
four
seasons.
