Mr Nice Guy Sets All Age Track Record at Northern Maine

Kim Ireland guided Mr Nice Guy to a wire to wire victory in the winners over division at Northern Maine Fair today in 1:55.2 setting a new all age track record. The five year old gelding set fractions of 29.3, 58.3, 1:27.1 and came home in 28.1 seconds in setting the mark.

The previous record was held by Valiant Towner of 1:56.0 was set in 1997 with John Davidson driving.

Mr Nice Guy is owned by Lew Hayden and trained by Wendy Ireland.

In other track record news, the recently concluded summer meet at Bangor Raceway also produced three track records that have not been reported.

DoubleshotascotchBangor, in capturing the Paul Bunyan title also set a track record for four year old pacing geldings in 1:54.2.

Lilly Langtree set a track record for four year old mare when the paced in 1:55.4 for driver John Beckwith on closing day. Lilly Langtree is owned by the Cookie N Mo Stable and Jonathan Klee Racing. She is trained by Dick Robertson, Jr.

Sire stakes filly, Perpetual Notion, captured the track record for two year old trotting fillies on July 6th. Gordon Corey did the driving and training duties for owner Michael Andrew.
