Two of Three Legs of Driving Championship Held

Five of the eight drivers have earned berths in Bangor Raceway’s Top Dog Driving Championship to be held on closing day of the summer meet. Greg Bowden, Ron Cushing and Shawn Gray will join Ryan Hall and Garrett Mosher along with three Classic Silks drivers to become the Top Dog.

Bangor Raceway will host a trio of driving events with a championship race on closing day. The preliminary driving events will be the Young Guns, The Top Guns and The Classic Silks. The three top drivers from each event will be eligible for the championship race to be held on Closing day on July 23.

Tonight at Bangor Raceway, Greg Bowden went three wide from sixth up the backside and kicked it into overdrive down the stretch to bring THE DUDE to the winner’s circle in the Top Gun Driving Championship in 1:59.0. Ron Cushing was second with Shawn Gray third.

They will join Ryan Hall, who won the Young Guns Challenge on July 4th , and Garrett Mosher who was second in the event for younger drivers.

Next Saturday, the second annual Classic Silks Driving Championship will be held at Bangor Raceway. The top three drivers will go on to the Championship race. The roster for the Classic Silk has been announced and the drivers are:

Closing day of Bangor's summer meet should be exciting along with the Driving Championship, the Maine Sire Stakes for three year old colts will be held along with the Annual Paul Bunyan Invitational Event.
